- My geek blog (New - Spring 2015)
Since I'm at core, a geek, by which I mean I can get overly enthusiastic about anything I find fascinating and I have solidly informed opinions about these things, my personal and professional blog now meld into one. A geek blog. It will be updated variously frequently and not depending on my other pursuits and obligations.
Topics: knife sharpening, food, drink, information technology (ethics, skills, methods, madness), origami, science, and anything else that I think I can present and write about well. Individual posts will tend toward being long but, I hope, also informative.
- My Facebook profile.
Part of what we are is our friends and community. Facebook is best at presenting that. If I get political, that's likely where I will do it. Often I will share many articles and links from different sides of a current issue there. So during Ferguson and Baltimore protests, most of my link shares were about power, racism and privilege in the U.S. and as discussion shifts focus to other current events, I share good reads or interesting perspectives on other related topics to the whole of what I perceive to be current conversation.
- My Twitter profile.
Certainly there's some politics here too, but Twitter is so fleeting, you have to constantly broadcast and once you stop, all focus leaves you. I also use it to engage with social-media focused customer service groups with various businesses and vendors that I work with. I find that Twitter often gets an immediate response as compared to waiting on hold for minutes or hours.
- My LinkedIn profile.
I try to keep the LinkedIn Profile up to date.
- My Google+ Profile.
I don't really use Google Plus that much. After the huge kerfuffles about identity and "real names" and their continued spotty behavior in implementing their policies, I'm a little lukewarm. Still I use GMail so by default have a Google Plus presence.
- My personal blog. (Deprecated/shuttered)
I will occasionally revive an old article here based on Google Analytics traffic from referrers, if I think the post merits it and is of some public good.
- My professional blog. (Deprecated/shuttered)
As with the personal blog, occasional article revivals happen here as well.
